Varietals: 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petite Sirah

Aroma: This elegant wine opens with lush aromas of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry-evoking essence of summer fruit.
Alcohol: 14%
Taste: On the palate, it’s juicy with vibrant blackberry and plum flavors layered over subtle floral notes, hints of cocoa, and a touch of vanilla bean. Dense yet fresh, it delivers a beautifully balanced and refined finish with bright acidity and structured tannins.
Winemaking: We source grapes from four different American Viticultural Areas in Paso. Each block has a different elevation, soil type, row direction, clone and rootstock. We ferment each individual vineyard block separately and used a few different yeast strains. It is aged 8 months in 25% new barrels.

About our Winemaker
Laura Orozco
Laura Orozco grew up in the heart of Napa Valley, surrounded by grapes. Her father literally broke his back working in the vineyards so she wanted nothing to do with agriculture, she wanted a better quality of life. Laura -- the first in her family to graduate from college -- had plans to join the medical profession. After graduating from The University of California at Santa Cruz with a Molecular Biology degree, she returned to Napa to prepare for the MCAT. While staying focused on her studies, she obtained a harvest-season lab assistant position at Franciscan Estate Winery. She was immediately intrigued by the complexity of winemaking. After harvest, Laura’s seasonal position turned into a full-time job. That promotion marked the end of her medical school path and the beginning of her wine career.After 6 years at Franciscan Estate, Laura moved on to become an enologist at V. Sattui Winery and was ultimately promoted to winemaker. In 2015, Laura joined the team at Chimney Rock Winery as Assistant Winemaker. At Chimney Rock, Laura worked alongside General Manager and Winemaker Elizabeth Vianna crafting the winery’s signature Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Her time at Chimney Rock gave her a love and passion for Cabernet Sauvignon. When the chance arose to become the Winemaker for Paso-D’Oro it felt like a golden opportunity. Her Paso-D’Oro pays homage to the golden state, the city of Paso Robles, and the beautiful grapes that grow there. Bringing it all full circle, Laura’s original dislike of agriculture is now one of the elements she most enjoys.
